About WESON MUSEUM

A museum for art,
dialogue, and connection
in virtual space.

WESON MUSEUM is a museum open to virtual space. It is not simply a place to display works — it is a space to stop in front of them, to engage in dialogue, and to share the experience of viewing with others.

About WESON
MUSEUM

WESON MUSEUM is a permanent art museum built in VRChat. Four spaces — Sky, Forest, Palau, and Rain — each with a different atmosphere and light, host continuous exhibitions.

What we place at the center of this museum is not the act of exhibition alone. As seen in the weekly Saturday tours, we prioritize the time when artists and viewers stand in the same space and exchange words about the work.

We want to cultivate an environment where people can encounter art beyond the constraints of distance and location — and with that in mind, WESON MUSEUM continues to operate as a foundation connecting artists, works, and audiences.

What we value

  1. 01

    Art in virtual space

    VR空間での展示

WESON MUSEUM is a museum built in VRChat. Works are exhibited in four spaces — Sky, Forest, Palau, and Rain — each with its own distinct atmosphere and light.

  2. 02

    Dialogue around artworks

    作品をめぐる対話

We value the opportunity for artists, works, and viewers to stand in the same place — through the weekly Saturday tours and beyond. We want to place the words and questions that arise in front of a work at the very center of what this museum is.

  3. 03

    Openness across distance

    距離を越えた開かれ

We want to cultivate an environment where people can encounter art beyond the constraints of location, body, and travel. A VR museum is open to anyone, from anywhere.

  4. 04

    Connection between virtual and physical

    仮想と現実の接続

WESON MUSEUM does not exist only within VR. We aim to be a foundation that supports the circulation of art — connecting to real-world viewing, purchasing, and exhibition.

ARTLINK is a group VR art exhibition developed through WESON MUSEUM, bringing together multiple artists in a shared virtual space. Held several times a year, it gathers artists from Japan and abroad.

If WESON MUSEUM is the "place", ARTLINK is the "program" that makes full use of that place. In addition to the VR exhibition experience, it pursues possibilities through connections to physical viewing and distribution, and exchange with international artists.

The possibility that an exhibition — beyond merely presenting work — becomes communication that connects works with people, and people with people. ARTLINK continues to explore that.

Looking
ahead

WESON MUSEUM is a place for exhibition, and also a place to accumulate records as an archive. We plan to develop the following initiatives gradually.

  • Exhibition Archive

We will accumulate and publish records of past exhibitions, creating a place to encounter works across time.

  • Artist Profiles

Profiles and activities of artists involved with WESON MUSEUM will be introduced.

  • Gallery Guide

The spatial design and highlights of each permanent gallery will be conveyed through text and video.

  • Articles & Reports

Backgrounds of exhibitions, creative processes, and records of dialogue will be published as archive.
